Email: No subject

Hello there,
So, like everyone under the sun these days, I've read your blog and thought it was a bit ridiculous. I will give you the benefit of the doubt, because you're 13 year old, probably suburban, middle class girl who still has a few years before fully developed opinions on these things (I thought I was pretty smart at age 13 myself).
So basically, you're overgeneralizing the entire thing. You refuse to acknowledge the fact that not all of us "99%-ers" are angry because we can't get jobs, or are "homeless" because "we wasted our times getting degrees" in things we enjoy doing (because surprise, not all of us want to study business or some sort of science. I'm mad at the fact that money is everything in America. We still operate on the whole 1980s idea of "greed is good," when we all saw it fail 4 or so years ago. Greed is not good. Greed has lead to our politicians being elected based on the fact that they make crooked deals with the big business of America, whose CEOs give themselves bigger bonuses than I can imagine.

Now I have a job. I work my butt off at a department store, making slightly above minimum wage (which is $7.25 in my state), and buy everything I need, and "live under my means." This doesn't fix the fact that America is one of the worst countries when it comes to the rich/poor divide. You need to realize that we aren't complaining about being poor, we're complaining about the super rich being exceedingly greedy, while the majority are falling down more and more economically.

And furthermore, don't call the liberals insane. I'm not a liberal, I'm a socialist, so you probably think I support Soviet Gulags or something along those lines, but trust me, there are conservatives who are equally as insane. I'm a member of the #occupybaltimore movement and I've received just about every insult under the sun from "your side."

So, I know this won't change your opinion, but I just want to say, you don't have to be a "damn hippie," unemployed, or homeless to care about Americans.

Cheers,
Graphic Design Major, MICA (sorry if that's a "worthless degree," it's what makes me happy)
